How to Size for Frames

When selecting safety eyewear at Mancine Optical, it's helpful to know what size frame will fit you. You can find this information easily by looking at a pair of frames you may currently own, or by visiting a local optical store.

In the event you already have a pair of frames that you would like to purchase again or even find a pair of frames similar, you can quickly identify the designer name, model number, and frame size by simply looking on the inside of your eyeglass temples (arm pieces). Below you'll find a quick guide to helping you identify your eyeglasses.

Components of Frame Size: Eye Size: Measured from outermost edges of lenses horizontally. Approximately 40 mil. - 62mil. Bridge Size: The distance between lenses. Approximately 14 mil. - 24 mil. Temple Length: Length of temple piece - also know as the arm piece or ear piece. Approximately 120 mil. - 150 mil.

Already Wear Glasses? Your current pair will likely have your frame size informatoin imprinted on the arm piece or the back of the bridge.

Turns out that most prescription frames will have your exact measurements engraved on the temples (arm pieces) or behind the nose bridge area. So, if for example, your  eyeglass frames read: 52 17-150, which translates to an eye size of 52, bridge size of 17 and temple length of 150. Note: Every frame has the same markings on the temples (arm pieces) of behind the bridge (nose area) as shown here: Model Name: Titmus PC268 Color Name: Purple or color #80 Size: (Two numbers) Eye Szie and Bridge Size, for example: 48-19 or 52-20 Temple Length: (Arm pieces) Usually between 120 and 150         This is the only information you need when ordering your eyeglass or sunglass frames.
